Itaipu Binacional will be present at Expo Dubai, one of the main world events in the dissemination of innovation, scientific advances, products and services. The company will be present at the Brazil Pavilion between March 20 and 31, 2022, closing the Brazilian schedule at the event.

Using water as an integrating element, Itaipu Binacional has prepared a series of attractions that will take Expo visitors to an immersive experience in the plant and its territory, located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, a region that is also home to natural beauties such as the Iguaçu Falls.

"Itaipu's participation contributes to the Brazilian strategy of presenting its best sustainability practices to an international audience, showing how Brazil has great potential for the green economy and the integration between people and the environment," stated the Brazilian General Director of Itaipu Binacional, General João Francisco Ferreira.

When passing by the Brazil Pavilion during the Itaipu Binacional exhibition, the visitor will go through a sequence of attractions that make use of advanced technological resources, such as augmented reality, 360º projections, touch screens, among others, in addition to cultural and artistic attractions.

The goal is to entertain and inform at the same time. In this tour, it will be possible to understand the interconnections between Brazilian biomes and regions through rivers and rainfall; learn about Itaipu Binacional's sustainability projects, including flora and fauna conservation actions; and attend presentations such as the choreography by Quasar Cia de Dança, specially prepared for the event.

“In short, visitors will be able to experience a bit of Brazil and how water is vital for sustainability, interconnecting ecosystems, food production and energy generation. And all of this in the desert of Dubai”, said the superintendent of Environmental Management at Itaipu Binacional, Ariel Scheffer da Silva.

The Expo

Expo Dubai is the current edition of the Universal Exhibition, which has been taking place since 1851 with the goal of presenting the best countries have to offer in terms of innovations, scientific and technological advances, business potential in products and services, among others. The event usually brings together governments, NGOs, private companies and other organizations linked to technology, urbanism, sustainability, science, culture, gastronomy and economics.

The Expo started on October 1, 2021 and runs until March 31, 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The expectation is to attract more than 25 million visitors. The theme of this edition is Connecting Minds, Creating the Future. The Expo will be organized into three thematic axes: Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.

Brazilian participation

Brazil's participation is coordinated by the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency (Apex) and the Brazilian stand is located in the Sustainability district. The concern with sustainability, by the way, is made clear by the use of solar energy in the pavilions, as well as the production of drinking water from humidity in the air, for example. The Brazilian program also emphasizes sustainable development with the slogan Together for Sustainable Development, divided into the themes of nature, people and tomorrow (Together for Nature, Together for People and Together for Tomorrow).
